Why do we produce toolkits?

Our Fellowship was established as a Foundation in 2017 by a group of colleagues worldwide, who are mainly active with UNESCO, UNU, IAU and relevant NGOs. Our goal was and is to accelerate sustainable regional development and support the United Nation’s SDGs by promoting community empowerment. One of the ways to do this is by producing self-help guides for communities in order to enable them to take their future into their own hands. We call them toolkits.

Where do they come from?

The subjects are inspired by the UN’s SDGs, and below you find a number that we have completed so

far. Every single COMMEET toolkit has been developed by an international specialist team, vetted

from among people with relevant backgrounds, scientific or professional careers, experience and

expertise in the field dealt with in the toolkit.

Who and how do they help?

Every toolkit is not composed for direct use by individuals but are meant for communities. A toolkit

provides a framework to promote community empowerment. Activities and resources are provided

which help communities in a specific field. We are convinced that each toolkit will prove its

applicability throughout the world, as it can be adapted for different settings. The toolkit is enriched

with many examples of good practice and links to inspiring stories.

What more?

Please note that it is our aim to support the work that is already being done by many other

organisations, such as UNHCR and IOM, and we hope that we will succeed in our efforts. Once

communities have taken the principle steps in cooperating, they may wish to learn more about how

to proceed. To this end, the toolkits also provide links to these key organisations where the readers

can find further information and support.

Empowering communities through education, advocacy and support.
