Anti-racism Toolkit

Why this toolkit?

75 years after the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the urgency of combatting racism and racial discrimination remains. Racial discrimination can happen on the basis of: Race, Colour, Descent, National origin, Ethnic origin, and All of these. Every day, each and every one of us can stand up against racial prejudice and disrespectful attitudes. COMMEET wants to build a world beyond racism and discrimination, where we all exercise our human rights.

Solution For All Communities

What is the purpose?

There are two things this toolkit can especially help with:

  • How to contribute to anti-racism projects and programmes that already exist in your community.
  • How to take the first steps in creating an anti-racism organisation of your own; specifically, we help you to determine what kind of problem(s) you are dealing with, and that, in turn, helps you choose whether to make a short-term or long-term project.

Who needs it?

This particular Anti-Racism toolkit is especially designed for anyone who has suffered from or been otherwise affected by racist practices. It is intended to help readers get an idea how to challenge these injustices and to start to mobilise and act against them at the community level.

While governments need to do more, local groups have an important role to play.

Engaging with the hearts, heads and hands of the local community is crucial. The toolkit helps a new community group to form, or an existing group to review progress and refresh itself, and to develop its initiatives.
